M. R. Savell, Local Agent, Dies at 46
Marshall Reece Savell, 46, 128 Norwood St., a local resident for the past 25 years and an insurance agent here for many years, died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday in Schumpert Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, he was a native of Fisher and a member of Westside Baptist Church, of the Broadmoor Masonic Lodge and of the Association of Life Underwriters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy E. McCormack, pastor of Westside Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery at Ringgold.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Delane Day Savell of Shreveport; his mother, Mrs. Lucy Savell of Many; a son, Gene Savell, and a daughter Wanda Savell, both of Shreveport, and three sisters, Mrs. Johnny Whittaker of Shreveport, Mrs. J. D. Meshell of Many, and Mrs. Eunice McFetridge of Houston, Tex.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Nelson, Lester Verigan, John Cates, Frank Herrington, J. L. McCann and Tom Bunting.
