Martha Coleman Ware Emmons
Martha Coleman Ware Emmons, 91, passed away Monday, September 6, 2004 in Ruston, LA following a short illness. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 7 at 3:00 PM at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Rev. Fred Wideman and Rev. David Dietzel will officiate.
Martha was born December 10, 1912 in Homer, LA, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Coleman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lillian Madden, her brother Robert Coleman, her first husband, James M. Ware, and her second husband, Morelle Emmons.
She is survived by her niece, Elizabeth Steadman Lohman of Baton Rouge, LA, and two stepdaughters, Barbara Emmons Logan of Colorado Springs, CO and Elizabeth Emmons Green of Ruston, and her special companion Janice Daye of Ruston.
Martha was a first grade teacher for 35 years having taught in the Claiborne, Lincoln and Washington Parish school systems. She maintained her membership in the Centenary Memorial Methodist Church in Franklinton, LA but was a loyal member of the Faith Sunday School Class, First Baptist Church in Ruston. She was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints, the LSU Tigers, the Tech Bulldogs, and the Lady Techsters. At the time of her death she was a resident of The Arbor of Ruston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or charity of the donor's choice or the Methodist Children's Home, Ruston, LA.
