Mrs. Martha Currey Gaar
SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Mrs. Martha Currey Gaar, 87, will be held at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Brother Steve Gilley of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation will be held at Rose Neath's Southside Funeral Home, Tuesday, February 15, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Gaar was born February 24, 1917, in Prescott, AR to William and Nora Currey. She passed away Monday, February 14, 2005, in Shreveport, LA after a short illness. Martha was the youngest of four children and grew up in Gurdon, AR, where she graduated from Gurdon High School. In 1949, Martha moved to Shreveport, LA in order to find work. She retired from the America and Pacific Tea Company (A & P Food Stores) where she worked many years in the meat department. Martha was a Christian who loved the Lord and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Gaar, her parents, two brothers and a sister.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Grayson, Jr., and his wife, Jo Ann, of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, Sgt. Scott Raymond Grayson, Ft. Lewis, WA, Sgt. Brent Reynolds Grayson, currently deployed to Guam with the United States Air Force, Corey Shane Grayson and Julie Ann Grayson of Shreveport, LA; two sisters-in-law, Lucy Currey of Gurdon, AR and Avice Gaar Kwasnik of Shreveport, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
