McCARTY -- At the Baptist Hospital, Alexandria, La., at 12:45 o'clock p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, 1924, Mrs. R. L. McCarty, aged 52 years. Deceased was a resident of Kent addition, this city, and had been at the hosiptal [sic hospital] only a short time.

She was born near Natchitoches, but was reared by Mr. John Mathews, who resides on the “Horse Shoe,” near Alexandria.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. R. E. Head, of Alexandria; one brother, Henry B. Everege [sic Everage], of Seiper, La.; one sister, Mrs. George Duncan, of Lamourie.

Her funeral took place at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon, following services at the Catholic Cathedral. Interment was made in Greenwood Memorial Park, under the direction of Hixson Bros.
