Miss Rosa Jordan, 76, of Hudson, Died Here June 18
Miss Rosa Jordan, 76, of Hudson community, passed away at a local hospital Saturday, June 18, after a long illness.
Funeral services were conducted at the Welcome Home Baptist Church at Hudson Monday, June 20, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. W. C. Bounds, church pastor,
officiating, assisted by Rev. Lester Rhymes and Rev. Vergie Taylor. Burial in Welcome Home Cemetery was directed by Southern Funeral Home.
A native of Alabama [sic Louisiana], Miss Jordan moved with her parents to the Hudson community when she was a small child and they have lived there in the old
family home since that time. Her mother, Mrs. Martha Jordan, who is 96 years of age, was able to attend the funeral services. The deceased was a niece of the late Judge Wiley R. Jones of Colfax. She was a member of the Welcome Home Baptist Church for the past 61 years.
Surviving in addition to her mother, are two brothers, O. A. Jordan and M. A. Jordan; one sister, Mrs. Anna White, all of Hudson, Winnfield, Route Four; a nephew, Hilton [sic Hylton] Lee, of Columbia; whom she had reared, and several other nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers, all nephews of Miss Jordan, were: Horrie Boyett, Johnny White, Mervin Jordan, Jr., J. C. Jordan, H. H. Lee, and H. L. Lee.
