Pauline McCarty
Funeral services for Pauline McCarty, 93, of Eufaula, Okla., were held Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home. Interment followed in Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe.
Mrs. McCarty was born in Crowville, on Oct. 26, 1921, and passed away on Dec. 17, 2014, in Oklahoma, where she resided with her family.
She was a graduate of The University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. She retired from the Morehouse Parish Office of Louisiana Department of Welfare where she served as a social worker. She is a former resident of Monroe, and Newlight, Louisiana. Pauline enjoyed hunting, traveling, her beloved dogs and reading about current events and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parentsz; Ceila Parker McCarty and Daniel Stephen McCarty of Newlight; and brother Delmas Parker McCarty; sisters: Erie Moray Sanders, Blondell M. Gebhardt, and Darlyn M. Little; her first husband Jack R. Hodgson, who was killed in action during World War II; and her second husband Denver W. McCarty.
Survivors include daughter: Jackquline Ann Monies and her husband Michael Anthony Monies; grandchildren: Malia Ann Ritz and spouse Phillip R. Ritz, and Michele Monies Khoury and spouse Brandon L. Khoury; great grandchildren: Madeline Ann Ritz and Jack Monies Khoury; sister Catherine M. Shane; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
