Martha Virginia Pierce Emmons
PASCAGOULA -- Martha Virginia Pierce Emmons, 90, a resident of Pascagoula, died on Monday, July 12, 2010, at Singing River Hospital. She was born in Scott County and had been a resident of Wade. Visitation was held July 13, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home and Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church on July 14, from 10 until 11 a.m. Services were held on July 14 at 11 a.m. at Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with graveside services and burial following at Pine Ridge Cemetery. Officiating was Bro. Billy Emmons. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Emmons, a lifelong homemaker, was a loving mother and a precious grandmother who was always dedicated to helping those in need.
Mrs. Emmons was preceded in death by her loving spouse, Carlos Counce Emmons, and her parents, Martha Jane Culpepper Pierce and Jack Stanley Pierce.
Mrs. Emmons is survived by one sister, Elaine Walsh of Vancleave; six children, Billy Emmons and wife Ann of Lake, Bobbie Ladner and husband, Chris, of Creole, Vera Jane Byrd of Hurley, Annie Lou Emmons of Wade, Jim Emmons and wife, Kathy, of Hurley, and Randy Emmons of Wade; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Corey Emmons, Sam Emmons, Colby Martin, Jason Smith, Will Emmons and Thomas Everett.
