Funeral services for Mr. Marvin L. Olivo, age 81, of Slidell, formerly of Monroe, will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 10:00AM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Monroe, LA. Rev. Joel Brackett will be officiating and interment will follow at the Hall Cemetery in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Olivo was born on April 21, 1925 and passed away on September 3, 2006 following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Monroe, but had been a long-time resident of Slidell where he owned and operated his own concrete business for many years. Mr. Olivo is survived by his wife, Luvenia Olivo; sister, Lola Shipley; children: Helen Gable of Monroe, LA; Buddy Olivo and wife, Brenda of Slidell, LA; Gail Bass and husband, John of West Monroe, LA; Tracy Olivo and wife, Evie of Slidell, LA; Stepchildren: Brenda Smith and husband, Travis of West Monroe, LA; Terry Patterson and husband, David of Columbia, LA; and Mike Tharpe of Slidell, LA; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: John Bass, Brady Middleton, Jeff Perry, Rodney Lewis, Sam Oliveaux, and Chris Brasher. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
