MARVIN LYMUL SMITH

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster for Marvin Lymul Smith, 85, of Denham Springs, Louisiana. Rev. Danny Cook officiated. Burial was in Whittington Cemetery near Liberty.

Mr. Smith passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Born June 1, 1926, in Liberty, Mr. Smith was the son of Dave and Reba Smith, both deceased.

Mr. Smith was a veteran of World War II, a gospel singer and a member of Newellton Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by nine brothers.

Mr. Smith leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Treace Whittington Smith; three daughters, Barbara Bolinger and husband Jerry, Brenda Weathers and Billie Laird; one son, Marvin L. Smith Jr. and wife Debra; grandsons, Larry Cowart and Tommy Laird Jr.; granddaughters, Sammie Clardy and husband John, Ciera Smith and Aslinn Smith, Tina Cowart, Shalesa Cowart, Tanya Smith and husband Wendell, Jessica St. Romain and husband Joseph and Jennifer McDonald and husband Roy; great-grandsons, Travis, Krist, Trevor, Kyle, Orealean and Jonathan; great-granddaughters, Heather, Crystal and baby, Bille, Cheyenne and Peyton; great-great-grandsons, Bryton, Darrell, Tommy III, Jamie, Nicholas, Eric and Larry Jr.; great-great-granddaughters, Samantha, Tiffany, Rebecca and Kayla; nephew, Jackie Whittington and wife Sue; two nieces, Dianne Santella and Twana Whittington; a sister, Sis. Bushnell Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
