McCARTY, M.R. ``SLEEPY''

Died 4:04 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1989, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 65, a native of Haynesville and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was founder and owner of McCarty Corp., Petrin Corp. and Data Comp Services. He was a U.S. Navy pilot and veteran of World War II.

Visiting at First United Methodist Church parlor, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday. Memorial services at 11 a.m. Friday in the church sanctuary, conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews.

Survived by wife, Mary Grace Thompson McCarty; two daughters, SuSu Rosenthal and Kathy Drake, both of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Frances Mitchell, Shreveport, and Hazel Allen, Greensboro, N.C.; two brothers, Howard McCarty, Ruston, and Robert McCarty, Fort Worth, Texas; and three grandchildren, Mark and Scott Rosenthal and Maggie Drake.

Preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. James M. McCarty; a sister, Mary Eleanor McCarty Hightower; and a brother, Harlan McCarty.

He was a member of First United Methodist Churchand Baton Rouge Country Club.
