DELHI YOUTH FATALLY HURT

Marvin R. Weed, 17, Victim As Automobile and Truck Crash

Fatally injured when his auto and a truck crashed headon on highway 16 as he drove north from Delhi Sunday night, death of Marvin R. Weed, 17, occurred in a hospital at Jackson, Miss. a few hours later. He was rushed immediately after the accident to the Mississippi institution but aid proved of no avail.

The funeral will be held in the First Baptist Church in Delhi Tuesday at _ a.m. Rev. G. F. Stinebaugh, assisted by Rev. G. B. Starne, will officiate. Interment will be in the Delhi Masonic cemetery under direction of Catron-Gay Funeral Home of Delhi.

Pallbearers will be: Billy R. Snyder, Jimmy Lewis, Arthur Arnold, Bob Mikel, Melford Andrews, Charles Wyley, Dan Rundell, and Johnny Hall.

Weed was a senior in high school and considered a remarkably fine, all-round youth. He lettered in football, was selected to attend Pelican State, and active in all high school groups and organizations. He also took active part in church youth activities and at the same time he met his fatal accident he was on his way home from attending a youth council held at a Delhi church. He was alone in his car at the time of the accident.

He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Weed; a brother, Harry Weed and a sister, Joann Weed; and two grandmothers, Mrs. Mamie Weed, Leesville, and Mrs. P. K. Emmons, Pleasant Hill.
