UPTON RITES ARE TO BE HELD TODAY AT PLAIN DEALING

Mrs. Mary Arinder Upton, 86, of Haughton, died at her home yesterday following an illness.

She had been a resident of Haughton f[or] 25 years and was a mamber [sic member] of the Bellevue Union church.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Norton funeral chapel in Plain Dealing with the Rev. Julia Pope officiating. Rev. Pope will be assisted by the Rev. O. T. Bolton. Burial will follow in Fillmore cemetery at Haughton.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Elta Spellings [sic Schweers] of Hondo, Texas and Mrs. Lenore Padgett of Crane, Texas; four sons, W. C. and H. J. Upton, both of Haughton, R. H. Upton of Minden, and L. F. Dickens of Pioneer, La.; and one brother, W. F. Arinder of Forest, Miss.

Mrs. Upton's grandsons will be pallbearers.
