MRS. MARY E. DUBY DEAD

Long Illness Fatal to Widow of Late Highway Chairman

BAKER, Or., May 26. -- (AP) - Mrs. Mary E. Duby, widow of William Duby, ex-chairman of the state highway commission and Baker county judge, died in a hospital here last night. She had been in poor health several months and was taken to the hospital Sunday.

She married Duby in Wahoo, Neb., in 1895 [sic 1883] and they came to Baker county in 1903 from Centralia, Wash., where they had lived 14 years. Duby engaged in the stock business and in lumbering for several years before his election as county judge in 1917.

Mrs. Duby is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Roy Cass of Baker, and two sisters and two brothers.
