Retired Aldan School kindergarten teacher
Mary Corley Norcoss, 84, of Newtown Square, a retired kindergarten teacher, died Sept. 9 at White Horse Village.
Born in Alexandria, Louisiana, Mrs. Norcross lived in Drexel Hill and Lansdowne before moving to White Horse Village where she resided for 11 years. Mrs. Norcross was a kindergarten teacher at the Aldan School for more than 20 years before her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, the Lansdowne-Aldan Education Association and Lansdowne Baptist Church. Mrs. Norcross enjoyed spending summers at a family cottage on the Chesapeake Bay. For 55 years she was married to Maurice Norcross who died in July.
Survivors: Son, William C. Norcross of Media daughter, Mary Elizabeth Norcross Post of West Milford, N.J. four grandchildren one great-grandchild.
Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Toppitzer Funeral Home, Garrett Road and Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill.
Burial: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.
Visitation: Noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
