MRS. MARY WORD

BASTROP, La., Aug. 6 -- (Special) -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Word, who died Wednesday morning in the Bastrop general hospital, were conducted here Wednesday afternoon from the local funeral home, with the Rev. Fox of Bonita officiating.

Mrs. Word, aged 59, wife of O. A. Word, has made her home here for the past 10 years, and was well-known in this vicinity. She was a native Louisianian, having been born near Baskin.

She had been ill only a week, and was operated on for appendicitis Monday morning. However, her appendix had ruptured before the operation.

Mrs. Word is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Bostwick of Baton Rouge; and two sons, M. E. Word of Baskin and Maurice Word of Texas.
