Mary Crudup Brown

Services for Mary Crudup Brown, 85, formerly of Marshall, will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Port Caddo Baptist Church in Marshall with the Dr. Robert Prothro officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Monday, January 28, 2008 at Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brown passed away Friday, January 18, 2008 in Dolores, Colorado. She was born February 5, 1922 in Jefferson, Texas to Pencia Edy and Wiley Crudup.

Mrs. Brown was born and raised in this area until she married at the age of 21 and moved away. She married Wesley C. Brown, Sr., November 26, 1942 in Marshall. They returned to Marshall after retirement to rebuild a home on her parent's property. She was a member of Port Caddo Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Larry Briggs of Dolores, CO; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Julia Brown, II of Concord, CA; sister, Bennie Maloney of Karnack; grandchildren, Bob Lombardo, Lena Galloway, Tammy Lorenzi, Wesley Brown III, Emily Brown, and Elizabeth Brown; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley C. Brown, Sr.; parents, Wiley and Pencia Crudup; brother, L. Dee Crudup; and a sister, Rachel Sorrels.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Brown II, Wesley Brown III, Larry Briggs, Robert Maloney, Gus Ash, Charles Truehitt, Tim Bartlett.

Mary Earle Brown

Memorial services for Dolores resident Mary Earle Brown will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Rock Springs Community Church.

Mary was born on Feb. 5, 1922 in Jefferson, Texas the daughter of Wiley and Pencia (Edy) Crudup. She passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at her residence at the age of 85.

Prior to coming to Dolores, Mary was a member of the Port Caddo Baptist Church in Marshal, Texas. She loved to work crossword puzzles, garden, needlepoint and playing cards. She also loved time spent with her grandchildren.

Surviving Mary are her daughter, Terri Briggs and husband, Larry of Dolores; her son, Wesley C. Brown II and wife, Julia of Concord, Calif.; by six grandchildren, Bob Lombardo of Matinez, Calif., Lena Galloway of Dolores, Tammy Lorenzo of Reno, Nev., Wesley C. Brown III and Emily Brown both of Concord, Calif. and Elizabeth Brown of Reno, Nev.; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild; and by her sister, Bennie Maloney of Marshal, Texas.
