Mary Elaine Wilkinson

Mary Elaine Wilkinson, 80, of Gloster, died at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation was 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, and 10 a.m. Friday until services there at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stacy McCollum and the Rev. Joe Jackson officiating. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery in Gloster.

Miss Elaine was born on October 16, 1926, in Baton Rouge, La. She was the daughter of the late Carrie Seale Buckels and Davis E. Buckels Sr.

On April 18, 1953, Miss Elaine was happily married to W.J.Wilkinson. She was a Christian lady of high qualities, quiet and unassuming in her manner, devoted to her husband, family, church and home. She was a Sunday school teacher in the five year old children's department for over 50 years.

She was retired from an insurance agency in Houston, Texas, where she had worked for a number of years. Following their retirement, she moved with her husband to the Busy Corner community in 1984. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Miss Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, L.D. Buckels.

She is survived by her husband, W.J. Wilkinson of Gloster, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristie and Charlie Cullum of Houston, Texas, Kathy and Jimmy Norton of Memphis, Tenn., one brother and sister-in-law, Davis and Faye Buckels, three sisters-in-law, Addie Kirkland, Annie Grace Wilkinson, and Jerrye Buckels, four grandchildren, Brian Cullum, Alyssa Queen of Houston, Texas, Jennifer Norton and J.T. Norton of Memphis, Tenn., and one great grandson, Devin Queen of Houston, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Brian Cullum, J.T. Norton, Hiriam Whittington, Rance Freeman, Nolan Alexander, and Ted Whittington.

The family would like to thank Miss Elaine's caregivers, Eleanor Floyd, Carolyn Floyd, Carolyn White and Shirley Hughes for their kindness and loving care. The family would also like to thank Community Hospices of America for their compassionate care and support.
