WINNSBORO, LA - Services for Mrs. Emily Whitten, age 80, of Winnsboro, LA will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel Winnsboro, LA with Rev. Dennis Fontenot officiating. Burial will be in Start Cemetery - Start, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Winnsboro, LA.

Mrs. Whitten died September 30, 2001 at Magnolia Nursing Home.

Mrs. Whitten was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro and a past member of Crew Lake Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Music Director. She was preceded in death by her husband Davie Whitten.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Betty McHenry of Monroe, LA, Doris and Charles Jones of Boyle, MS, Henrietta and Foy Wooten and Gladys and Jerry Bartleson, all of Winnsboro, LA; four sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas “Sonny” and Jean Whitten of Camby, OR, Joe Whitten of Baskin, LA, Freddie and Marilyn Whitten of Start, LA and Mickey and Lillian Whitten of Winnsboro, LA; three sisters: Louise Watts and Lorene Montgomery, both of Start, LA and Stella Pylant of Snyder, TX; two brothers: Clifford Morris of Valley View, TX and Dempsey Morris of Canton, TX; nineteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons; Chris McHenry, Pat Weatherford, Scott Wooten, Eric Whitten, Clay Whitten, Darrell Whitten, Joey Whitten, Billy Bruce, Paul Bartleson and David Whitten.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday evening at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
