MARY ETTA NEWCOMB EVANS

Mary Etta Newcomb Evans, 75, of Laurel, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel with burial in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Laurel. The Revs. Grady Campbell and Norman Hartshorn will officiate. A homemaker, she was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney E. and Molly Newcomb; her brothers, Elijah Newcomb, Billy Newcomb, and Nevels Junior Newcomb; and her sisters, Fannie Westbrook and Minnie Allgood.

She is survived by her daughters, Rose Evans and Suzy Evans, both of Laurel; her granddaughter; and her brothers, B.G. (Shorty) Newcomb and Bobby Newcomb, both of Laurel.

Visitation will begin 10 a.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
