Mary Faye Cole
May 16, 1932 - October 13, 2010

Mary Faye Ingham Cole, 78, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010, enroute in an ambulance from Wichita Falls to Midland.

Mary was born to Homer and Katherine Bates Ingham May 16, 1932 in Midland. She attended Midland Schools until her family moved to their ranch in Reagan County. The Ingham's and neighbors hired a teacher to come teach the children in Stiles. She graduated from Midland High School in 1948. Attended TCU but returned home and married Buster Cole November 18, 1950 in Midland. They moved to the ranch at Goldsmith, TX where she lived until 2007 when she moved to Vernon, TX to be close to her daughter Susan Byars and her family.

She was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church and was baptized in a dirt tank as a child at the ranch along with her brother, Frank. Mary was a real horse woman at a very young age. Very talented musically, she played the piano and had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir. Her real talent was helping others. Especially those less fortunate than she. One of her passions was seeking little children who would not have had a Christmas if not for her love and generosity.

Mary Cole was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She loved the ranch life, but she also loved her new home and friends at Wynwood in Vernon, TX where once again she could do for others.

She was preceded in death by her husband after 50 years of marriage, Buster Cole; her parents; her brother, Frank Ingham and one grandson, Daniel Cole.

Mary is survived by sister, Dona Ivy; five children, Susie Byars, Annie Truitt, Roy Cole, Ed Cole and Billy Cole; nine grandchildren, Cole and Matt Byars, Adam and Ben James, Joshua Cole, Christopher and Christina Cole, Cummins and Jessie Kate Cole; Two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
