MARY GERTRUDE PERRY

Mary Gertrude Perry, 93, of Laurel, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. She was a homemaker and a member of Glade Baptist Church.

Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her husband, James Harvey Perry; son, Ralph Perry; brothers, Marvin Holifield, Alvin Holifield and Festus Holifield; sisters, Velma Welborn, Vida Mauldin, Parsada McCord and Pauline Stringer; parents, Elisha Holifield and Almedia Hill Holifield; and a grandson.

She is survived by four sons, Lavonne Perry and Thomas (Delton) Perry, both of Wayne County, James E. Perry of Crosby, Texas, and Rayford J. Perry of Mossville; four daughters, Nella Jean Johnson of Lumberton, Wanda Gale Perry Lee of Seminary, Linda Carol Grantham of Laurel, and Mary Jo Byrd of Gulfport; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will held Friday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Dave Moran and Mike Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Wayne County.
