IRENE ADAMS

Irene Adams, 80, of Mauriceville, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 23, 2008 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Reverend Kevin Brown, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Mauriceville will officiate. Right of committal and interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in the McLewis community of Orange. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Born on February 10, 1928 in Zwolle, Louisiana, she lived in the Mauriceville area for 36 years; she was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, A. D. Adams, Jr. who passed away in 1986 and her brother, Joseph Sepulvado.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Freed of Mauriceville and Carolyn Johnson and husband Robert of Mauriceville; son, David A. Adams and wife Marlyn of Hemphill, Texas; aunts, Ann Cooper Warren and husband Kenneth of Sulphur, Louisiana and Frankie Pugh of Zwolle, Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Mattie McCord of Port Arthur and Doris Herrington and husband Herbert of Orange; honorary children, Butch and Doylene Arabie, Jimmy and Judy Dickens all of Mauriceville and Billy Freed of Shilo, Texas; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
