Death of Estimable Old Lady

Mrs. L. C. Pratt, one of Bibb County's old and beloved matrons, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Crowe, in Montevallo, Tuesday morning at 6 o'clock.

Mrs. Pratt has been in feeble health for some time, and the end was not unexpected by her family and friends. She was past 82 years of age, and up to a few years ago was quite active. She was of a cheerful and sweet disposition that endeared her to all who knew her, and her wonderful store of knowledge and memory of the old South during the war and reconstruction days made her an interesting companion for both old and young. She was a member of the Baptist Church, a devout Christian, a loyal friend and devoted mother. She leaves a heritage to her children to be proud of.

She is survived by five daughters, Mesdames W. A. Harvey, Frank Crowe, T. O. Smith, Phelan Logan, and W. A. Greene; three sons, Judge W. L. Pratt, Messrs. Walton and Calloway Pratt, and a large number of grandchildren. A brother, Mr. J. L. Clements, also survives her.

The remains were carried to Schultz Creek graveyard for interment Wednesday. A number of relatives and friends from this place attended the funeral.
