Mrs. Prestridge, 63
Mrs. Mary Jean Harvey Prestridge, 63, of Scotch Plains died Sunday, November 12, in the MedBridge Nursing Home in Mountainside.
Born in Poplarville Mississippi, she had lived in Scotch Plains since 1967. She had formerly resided in Baton Rouge.
Mrs. Prestridge was a 1981 cum laude graduate of Douglas College in New Brunswick. She had been an artist and color analyst, teaching in many area adult schools. She also had designed sets and costumes for the Scotch Plains Players and the Jersey Lyric Opera, retiring seven years ago.
Surviving are three sons, Bing Prestridge of Scotch Plains, Wade Prestridge of Monroe Township and Patrick Prestridge of Wadsworth, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Karyn Ungar of Edison; two brothers, Peter Harvey and Loy Harvey; five sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Wells, Mrs. Lou Clay, Mrs. Melba McLaughlin, Mrs. Mavis Simmons, Mrs. Bura Boyd, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, November 16, at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue, West, in Fanwood.
