Mary Leesley, Resident Here 45 Years, Dies
Mrs. Mary Leesley, resident of Plattsmouth for almost 45 years, died Christmas Day, December 25, 1951, at Hillcrest
Nursing Home. She was 66 years old.
A native of Gretna, Nebraska, she was born April 19, 1885, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newton Long. She was married
April 12, 1911 to Earl Leesley.
Mrs. Leesley had been a Plattsmouth resident since 1907. She was a member of the Methodist church of Plattsmouth.
Prior to her death she had been in ill health for some time.
Surviving are her husband, Earl Leesley of Plattsmouth; two sons, Irwin and Don Leesley, both of Plattsmouth; three
daughters, Mrs. James Lee of Culver City, California, Mrs. Burdette Hoover of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Mrs.
Shirley Cary of Plattsmouth; two brothers, Guy Long of Plattsmouth and Vernon Long of Omaha; and a sister, Mrs. Dewey
M. Jensen of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, December 28, 1951, at three o'clock with Rev. Harold V. Mitchell
officiating from Caldwell-Linder Chapel. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 Thursday afternoon and
evening. Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery at Plattsmouth.
Caldwell-Linder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
