BARKLEY, Mary Lois

Mary Lois Barkley, beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away at the age of ninety-five at Avante Rehabilitation Center in Irving TX on September 18th.

Born in 1920 in the East Texas town of Joaquin, she moved with her family to Grand Prairie in 1951 to work at the defense plants, first TEMCO then Vought Aeronautics. She retired in 1985 after thirty-four years as a secretary, known to co-workers then as Lois Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Harry Barkley, in 1998.

Survivors include four children and their spouses: Kennith Wright and wife Martha of Seymour TN, Thomas Wright and wife Judy of Marietta GA, Charlotte Day and husband Charles of Montgomery TX, and Mary Shipley and husband Don of Irving TX. She also leaves behind step-son Dr. Ron Barkley and family of Denison TX, wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at her church, New Beginnings Fellowship, 709 W. Midway Dr., Euless TX 76039 on October 3rd at 10am.
