Funeral services for Mary Louise Newsom, age 84 of Ruston will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 15, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dale Oden. Interment will be held at 2:30 PM Friday at Roberts Cemetery near Kelly, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

Mrs. Newsom was born January 18, 1929 and passed away February 11, 2013. Mrs. Newsom was an active member of Temple Baptist Church. Her hobbies included crocheting, and knitting. She also enjoyed reading books and fishing.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years: Arvel E. Newsom; son: James Michael Newsom of Ruston; daughters: Cathy Dianne French of Poquoson, VA, Patricia Ann Moody of Colbert, GA and Karen Sue Chapin of Ruston, LA; sister: Frances Gleason of West Chester, PA; grandchildren: Rebecca French Skolarus, Michael French, Elizabeth French, Lauren Moody Ligon, Emily Moody Bohannon, James French and Sarah French; and 8 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael French, Patrick French, Dwayne Newsom, Ronnie McLendon, Gregory Brown, and Burgess Newsom, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews and members of the Robert Davis Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
