Mary Lula Whittington

Mary Lula Whittington, 84, of Denham Springs, La., died there Feb. 3, 2008, at Golden Age Retirement Center.

Visitation is 6 to 8 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rusty Silvertooth officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Gloster.

Mrs. Whittington was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Centreville, to Emmit and Mary Alice Whittington Rollins.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Whittington; an infant son, Jimmy Berth Whittington; four brothers, Judson, Carl, Mann and Street Rollins; and four sisters, Nina Jackson, Pauline Reeves, Audie Guice and Neva Whittington.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne and Pamela Whittington of Livingston, La., and Kenneth Whittington of Prairieville, La.; a sister, Leola Whittington of Livingston; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
