Mary Lyvonne Clarkson
Apr. 21, 1925 - Nov. 29, 2009

Mary C. Clarkson was born in Fort Necessity, LA on April 21, 1925 and left this earthly life on Sunday, November 29, 2009 to join her husband of 57 years, Mr. Bill Clarkson. Mr. Bill put the coffee pot on for the last time and will welcome her home with her son, Robert Allen “Bobby”, Sally Ann and Elsie Pauline “Polly” at the family fire.

Her children James William Jr. “Jimmy”, Rodney and wife Ginger, and Bonnie and husband Michael will gather with friends and relatives to say their farewell at a memorial service at the Dunn Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 2:00PM. Rev. Bernard Duchesne Jr. will officiate services. A time of remembrance and fellowship will be held Monday, November 30, 2009 from 4-6PM in the fellowship hall of Dunn Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mary worked for the Richland Parish School Board as Business Manager and Bookkeeper. She also worked at the Holly Ridge School and East Richland and Warden Water works as a secretary. She was a Sunday School teacher at the Dunn Baptist Church and a “Mother” to many during her life. Her most important job was being a wife and mother to her children. She will be remembered as the “Best Mom in the World”.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Jackson Collins and Lessie Collins Moore; one sister, Elsie Collins Worthen ; one brother, Billy Collins; one son, Robert Allen Clarkson; two daughters, Sally Ann Clarkson and Elsie Pauline Clarkson and her beloved husband James W. “Bill” Clarkson.

She is survived by two sons, James William Clarkson Jr. of Brooksfield, FL and Rodney Thomas Clarkson and wife Ginger Traxler Clarkson of Minden, LA; one daughter, Bonnie Clarkson Bagby and husband, Michael of Warren, OH; a daughter-in-law, Joan Clarkson of Tupelo, MS; three sisters, Patsy Miller of West Monroe, LA, Shirley Jo Shelby of Taylorsville, MS and Willie Earl McNemar of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Johnny Collins of Baton Rouge, LA; ten grandchildren, Bill, Tim, Stacie and Tom Clarkson, Kelly Clarkson Williams, Lisa Gerwe, and Joel, Caren, Frank and Patrick Bagby and nineteen great grandchildren.
