FORMER PARISH WOMAN BURIED

Mrs. Mary Malissa Rogers, 75, well known in this parish died at St. Frances [sic Francis] Sanitarium in Monroe February 1 at 7:25 p.m. At the time of her death she was residing [in] West Monroe, but she had resided in Columbia Heights for many years before moving to Ouachita parish a short time ago. Funeral services were held the following day at the Columbia Heights Methodist Church in Columbia Heights, the Rev. Lea Joyner of Monroe in charge of the services, assisted by Rev. Sidney Seegers of the Columbia Methodist church.

Pallbearers at the funeral were Victor Ruthledge, A. G. Charrier, Carl Duke, C. E. Stringer, and J. B. Fluitt.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by four sons, L. W. Rogers of West Monroe, Jack D. Rogers of Shreveport, Virgil H. Rogers of Long Beach, Calif. and Edward F. Rogers of Richmond, Va.; four daughters [only 3 named], Mrs. T. Hood, West Monroe; Mrs. E. M. House of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Frank Casey of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Fant of Columbia Heights and Mrs. V. H. Mecom of Detroit, Mich., and 15 grandchildren. Mrs. Manuel Lee Woodruff of Heights is a granddaughter.

Interment was made in the Columbia cemetery under the direction of the Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.
