MARY SUE EVANS CRAWFORD FLACY
August 26, 1937 - August 21, 2018

Funeral services for Mary Sue Evans Crawford Flacy, age 80 of Harrisonburg, LA will be held at 10 AM Friday, August 24, 2018 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg with Bro. Josh Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The family will receive visitors Thursday, August 23 at the church from 5 PM until 9PM.

Mary Sue Evans Crawford Flacy was born in Harrisonburg, LA to the union of her parents, George W. and Lilly Ford Evans on August 26, 1937. She went to her heavenly home on August 21, 2018. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg where she co-taught the Searchers and Seekers Sunday School Class, was active with the youth programs and enjoyed taking her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to their activities. She, along with her friend, Ann Sargent enjoyed planning bus trips for the senior adults. She will long be remembered for her boundless energy, quick wit and loving spirit that she shared with all she knew and loved.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 25 years, Gerald Crawford; brothers: Jack (Helen), Joe (Marion), Vernon (Johnnie Ruth), Pete (Enola) and Johnny (Dot); sisters: Dorris Womack Willis (J.G. and Buddy) and Georgie Lee (Owen); sisters-in-law: Ruth Evans and Billie Evans and brother-in-law, Byron Stevens.

Those left to share her loving memories are her beloved husband of 31 years, Robert M. Flacy; sons: Gerald Crawford, Jr. (Cindie) and Bill Crawford (Kim) both of Harrisonburg and Greg Crawford (Sylvia) of Hebert; daughters: Vicki Hamilton Mitchell (Gerald) of Jena and Kimberly Crawford of Houston, TX; sister, Ella Louise “Shortye” Stevens of Natchez, MS and a brother, C. F. Evans of Pineville. Sue had twelve grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, eleven step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jess Clayton Crawford of DeQuincy, Ryan Casey Hamilton of Harrisonburg, Branton Gene Crawford of Harrisonburg, Riley Blake Crawford of Harrisonburg, Layton Cole Crawford of Columbia, TN and John Michael Charrier of Aimwell. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Tomlinson, Bill Sargent, Ernie Reeves and the deacons of First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg.
