DEATHS
EMMONS. -- At the home of her son, D. M. Emmons, near Loyd, La., on April 24, 1906, Mrs. Matilda Elizabeth Emmons, aged 56 years, 5 months, 28 days. She leaves three sons, two daughters and eighteen grandchildren to mourn her loss, but they feel assured that their loss is her eternal gain.
Mrs. Emmons was for twenty-five years a consistent member of the Missionary Baptist church.
After long, long hours of pain,

When hope of earthly aid proves vain,
God in His mercy sendeth sleep
From which his children never wake to weep.
