MRS. MATILDA JOHNSON

WAYNESBORO, MISS. -- Service for Mrs. Matilda Johnson, 91, one of Wayne's County [sic Wayne County's] oldest citizens, and well known resident of Waynesboro, who died at her home Monday morning after an illness of some duration, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Holifield, pastor, officiated and interment was in the Waynesboro Cemetery. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Johnson was born in this County and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abbie Temple. Her husband, Leo Johnson, preceded her in death several years ago.

She leaves a foster daughter, Eula Lee Richey; a sister, Miss Annie Temple, and a brother, John Temple, both of Laurel.
