Obituary for Matthew Whittington
Funeral services for Matthew Whittington, 16, of Ferriday, LA will be held at Vidalia Assembly Of God on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 2:00 PM with the Rev Albert Fraley, Father David O'Connor, and Rev. Wayne Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Jigger, La. under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Matt was born February 24, 1991 in Ferriday, LA to Judy and Dennis Whittington and passed away Wednesday March 14, 2007 in Ferriday. Matt was a sophmore at Cathedral High School in Natchez. He was involved in the Boy Scouts of America following in his brother Daniel's footsteps. He played football for Cathedral. Something which was not widely known is that Matt loved to write and he was recognized by the DAR for his outstanding writings. Matt was a very diverse child, he went to the Baptist Church, the Assembly of God, and attended a catholic school that showed his love for all sorts of people. A unique light has been taken from our lives and we will be forever changed. He was a good natured son, brother, nephew, and friend who will be forever loved and missed.

Honorary Pallbeare[r]s will be: Gentry Murray, Tessa Murray, Kristy Britt, Courtney Britt, Jennifer Berry, Aliesha Berry, Kristen Johnson, Brittany Whittington, Emma Whittington, Julia Whittington, Maddison Whittington, Nicholas Whittington, Allison Willard, Natalie Whittington, Eric Guillot, Jake Newman, Sam Newman, Tyson Durham, Hunter Walsworth and Rutger Walsworth.
The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home Ferriday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, March 17, 2007.
