Mattie Blair Whittington

GREENWOOD -- Mattie Blair Whittington, 96, homemaker, died Wednesday of heart failure at Golden Age Nursing Home. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Greenwood, where she was a member since 1918, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery here. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home has charge.

She was a graduate of Belhaven College in Jackson, a charter member of Matinee Musical and a member of Greenwood Garden Club, Women's Club and Greenwood Country Club.

Mrs. Whittington, the widow of Charles S. Whittington, leaves a daughter, Joyce W. Hughes of Greenwood, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
