Mrs. Mattie HOMAN

A very sad death took place at the Coronation Hospital on Sunday, May 3rd, when Mrs. Mattie Homan of Talbot, passed to her reward in the 39th year of her age. Mrs. Homan had contracted a heavy cold which developed into "Flu". She was brought into the hospital the Monday previous but in spite of all that medical skill and good nursing could do she became steadily worse until death claimed her. This sad news has cast a loom over the entire community where the family was very highly respected. Mrs. Homan was a woman of cheerful, kindly and patient disposition and Will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Deep sympathy goes out to the bereaved family whose loss is very severe. There remain to mourn her loss her husband and eight children, Dorothy, Alfred, Helen, Anna, Ethel, John, Gordon, and Vera, the oldest being fifteen years of age and the youngest a year old. The oldest child, Violet died about two years ago.

The deceased woman is survived by her mother Mrs. Venia Long, three sisters, Mrs. Charles Campbell, Mrs. Earl Leasley, Mrs. D.M. Jensen and two brothers Vernon Long, and Guy Long, all living in Nebraska. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. W.J. Haggith from Trinity Church Coronation, and was attended by a large number of friends and neighbors from the surrounding country, Interment being made in Coronation Cemetery. The heartfelt sympathy of a large community of people goes out to the bereaved husband and children in the time of thier great sorrow.
