Funeral services for Maud E. ``Mamie'' Slade, 94, of Baskin were held Friday at Baskin Baptist Church with the Rev. S. B. Boyette and the Rev. Leroy Dickerson officiating.
Interment followed at Union Cemetery near Baskin under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mrs. Slade died Wednesday, March 1, 1995 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born July 25, 1900, a resident of Baskin, a homemaker, a member of Baskin Baptist Church where she taught Training Union to the young children.
Survivors include one daughter, Irene Finklea, Shreveport; two sons and daughters-in-law, J. C. and Rosa Slade, Baskin; Robert and Agnes Slade, Bastrop; one daughter-in-law, Virginia Slade, Monroe; one sister, Mildred Mercer, San Angelo, Texas; two brothers, S. T. McDonald, Baskin; Mahier McDonald, Mangham; also 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews;
Nephews, who served as pallbearers, were Marshall McDonald, S. T. McDonald, Jr., Ace Joe McDonald, Joe Chapman, Jeremy Slade, and Charles McDonald.
