Purvis Services Scheduled Today

Miss Maude Purvis, 71, resident of 323 Vardaman Street died at 9 a.m. Friday at her home following a long illness. Miss Purvis was born and reared in Smith County and had been a resident of Jackson for thirty one years, she was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement she was a practical nurse.

Survivors include one sister, Miss Madge Purvis of Jackson, two brothers, Moody R. Purvis of Morton and Clyde E. Purvis of San Diego, California.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from Crestwood Baptist Church with Rev. G. A. McCoy officiating assisted by Rev. Charles Holifield of Morton. Interment will be made in Lakewood memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Raymond F. Dallas, Sam K. Evans, Clarence Greer, Carson J. Hester, all of Jackson and Jack Stuart, Dan R. Ott, Charles O. Walter and P. B. Alford, all of Morton, Miss.
