Maude Sikes Dark
WINNFIELD, LA. - Services for Mrs. Maude Sikes Dark will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday April 9 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield. Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery at Gaar's Mill, La.
Mrs. Dark died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday April 7, 1987, in Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. She was born in Winnfield Parish, La. October 11, 1897 and was a resident of Winnfield for 45 years. For the past ten months she was a resident of the Glen Retirement Home in Shreveport. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winnfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Dark, former Tax Assessor of Winn Parish.
Survivors include three daughters, Burdette D. Bell and Nelwyn D. Fordham, of Shreveport, Marilyn D. Barrett of Houston, Texas; two sons-in-law, O.C. Fordham of Shreveport and Ray Barrett of Houston; five grandchildren, Gerald W. Fordham of Baton Rouge, La., Ann F. Green and Gaylyn Bell , of Shreveport, Mike Barrett and Michelle Barrett, of Houston, four great-grandchildren, Tracy and Scott Fordham of Baylor University, Trey and Meg Green of Shreveport.
Pallbeaarers [sic Pallbearers] will be O.C. Fordham, Ray Barrett, Gerald W. Fordham, Mike Barrett, Dr. Ragan Green, Jr. and Scott Fordham.
