Maurice Eugene Dawson
Maurice Eugene Dawson, 67, Brookhaven, died June 16, 2006, at his residence.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gaylen Dawson officiating. Burial is in Riverwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Dawson was born Aug. 29, 1938, to Mann Dawson and Mary Nettie Randall Dawson.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He was also a retired mobile home service and repairman for Gene's Mobile Homes.
Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eleanor Lavene Dawson.
Survivors include, his wife, Glenda Laird Dawson; a daughter and son-in-law, Lee Dawson Wilson and husband Joey; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Alpha L. Sharpe of Brookhaven, Agnes F.Wilson of Willis, Texas, Edith L. Willis of Brookhaven, Trish Dawson of Brookhaven and Patsy Towells and husband Ray of Gloster; six brothers and two sisters-in-law, Larry L. Dawson, of Murfreesboro,Tenn., Raymond Dawson and wife Jan of Troy, N. C., Stanley Dawson and wife, Diane, of Ferriday, La., Bobby Dawson, of Natchez, The Rev. Gaylon Dawson and wife, Jackie, of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Joey Dawson, of Walker, La.; stepmother, Mavis Dawson, of Gloster; two grandchildren, Olivia Wilson and Dawson Wilson; six step children,Clay Lewis, Clint Lewis and wife Fran, Bubba Freeman and wife Amy, Tammy Smith and husband Josh, Katrena Allred and husband Tony and Larry Rutland; 12 step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Clifton E. Brown, Jody Butler, Ethon Lofton, Bubba Freeman, Daniel Lofton, Dwayne Anding, Jerry Dale Wills and Clay Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Dubois, Billy Wayne Jones, Larry Rutland and Jackie Whittington.
Memorial gifts for the funeral service may be made to the family.
