Maurine was born on November 9, 1928, in Winn Parish and passed from this life on February 8, 2018. She graduated from Winnfield High School as valedictorian of her senior class, then married Vinco Herlevic, Jr. in 1946. The newlyweds moved to Monroe where they raised their three children. Maurine worked as a bookkeeper for many years, mainly in the finance business, but her focus was always on faith and family. She was a fabulous cook, a loving wife and mother, and a wonderful friend to many. She loved her family to the depths of her soul and took pride in everything they accomplished. Maurine was definitely the matriarch of her family, keeping everyone close and loving them all equally. Traditional holiday dinners at her home were cherished and enjoyed by all, as was afternoon coffee and dessert. Maurine was a Christian example of love to her family and friend, and she will be greatly missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to have known her.
Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Alson Jeter; her husband, Vinco Herlevic, Jr.; her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Shirley Jeter; and several other beloved family members.
