Mavis Dean Freeman

Mavis Dean Freeman, 86, of Bogalusa, La., died there March 12, 2005, at Rest Haven Living Center.

Services were 11 a.m. today at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The Rev. Lynn Martin and the Rev. Ed Jenkins officiated. Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.

Mrs. Freeman was born March 20, 1918, in Magnolia. She was the daughter of Booth Monroe Dean and Mamie Wright Dean.

She was a member of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bogalusa. Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Thomas Carl Freeman.

Survivors include one daughter, Mamie Smith of Salisbury, N.C.; two sons, Larry Freeman of Baton Rouge, La., and Kenneth Randall “Randy” Freeman of Bogalusa; six grandchildren, one stepgrandchild and seven great-grandchildren.
