Maye Batchelor

Funeral services for Maye Batchelor were held Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at Lawrence Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Royce Turner officiating. Burial followed in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home of Grand Saline.

Mrs. Batchelor passed away on Oct. 1, 2005, at Grand Saline. She was born in Waxahachie on April 12, 1925, to the late Otis and Faye Wilson Cockerham. She had lived in Grand Saline since 1941. She was a member of Lawrence Springs Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Batchelor Sr.; a son, Walter Batchelor Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Paula Batchelor; a granddaughter, Michelle Riley; and great grandchild, Caitlan Davis.

She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, James and Clela Batchelor and Buford and Sandy Davis, all of Grand Saline; a daughter and son in law, Carolyn and Albert Wise of Waco; two brothers, Bud Cockerham of Seattle, Wash., and Ray Cockerham of Mesquite; a sister, Joy Purifoy of Forney; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Carroll Waddill, Johnny Hill, Tim Crocker, Keith Slavens, John Rash, Sam Beeler, Charles Land and Arthur Beeler.
