M. O. Whitten Funeral Set

Funeral services for Mayo Oliver Whitten, age 66 of Ruston, have been set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Robert S. Magee officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at Spears Funeral Chapel in Ruston until time for the services.

Mr. Whitten died Monday in Lincoln General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Start and had been a resident of Ruston for the past 16 years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Violet; one son, Richard O. Whitten of Lufkin, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Mayo Whitten Services Set

RUSTON -- Mayo Oliver Whitten, 66, of 205 East California, Ruston, died Monday at a Ruston hospital after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Temple Baptist Church in Ruston with Dr. Robert Magee officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.

The body will be at Spears Funeral Home in Ruston until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Violet Whitten of Ruston; one son, Richard Whitten of Lufkin, Tex.; three brothers, Ezra Whitten and Lillian Whitten, both of Start; Lonzo Whitten of Borger, Tex.; and two grandchildren.
