Medora Reed Lashlee

Mrs. Medora Reed Lashlee, age 92, of Centre, Alabama, and a former Abilene resident, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2002, in Cherokee Baptist Medical Center in Centre.

Mrs. Lashlee was born September 6, 1909 in Jackson Parish, LA, the daughter of the late James Martin and Frances Gaar Reed. She was a graduate of San Angelo State University, a retired Insurance Agent, and a member of First Baptist Church in Abilene. She was a charter member of the Colonial Dames of Ruston, LA, and a member of D.A.R. of Jonesboro, LA, and Abilene Woman's Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lashlee.

Survivors include a daughter, Fran Bright and husband, Robert, of Centre, AL; granddaughters, Kellie Durian of Lawrenceville, GA, Kimi Funderburk of Centre, and Kaysi Darrah of Cartersville, GA; ten great-grandchildren, Blake and Miles Durian, Erin Cadigan of Centre, AL, Kana, Kathryn, John and Kariann Schafer, Jarrett, Kendall and Jake Darrah; a sister, Earline Earhart of San Angelo, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Saturday at 2 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home in Centre, AL with Dr. Lewis Archer officiating.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas with Dr. Phil Christopher officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Abilene.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centre First United Methodist Church.
