Melba Jones
Melba (Chandler) Jones, age 87 of Dodson, La., passed away October 24, 2007 at the Willis Knighton Hospital in Bossier City.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Durwood (Dub) Jones, and sons Ronald and Dennis (Denny) Jones.
She is survived by her four grandchildren, Woody Jones and friend Tanne' Wilson, Leah Rimmer and husband Doug, Johnny Jones, all of Haughton, La., and Derek and Veronica Jones of Alexandria, La. also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Mason Hooper and Ryan Rimmer, Daniel and Travis Jones, Evan and Brook Jones, and Colin Jones.
Melba is also survived by her two sisters, June McPherson of Lakeland, Fla., and Katherine Wilkinson of Orange, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jones was a faithful member of Cypress Creek Baptist Church.
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, October 26, 2007 and from 8:00 AM until noon on Saturday, October 27, 2007. Friends may also visit with the family at the Cypress Creek Baptist Church on Saturday from 1:00 PM to service time. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturay, October 27, 2007 at the Cypress Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Melba's name to Cypress Creek Church or Cemetery Fund.
