Funeral Rites For Melvin N. Cockerham Held
Melvin N. Cockerham, 53, died Monday, November 24, 1969, in Chicago, Ill. He
was a native of Winnfield, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the
Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Eugene Cockerham of West Virginia; one daughter,
Mrs. June McLaughlin of Calvin; one brother, James Cockerham of Stevenson,
Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. L. R. Daily of Pacific Palisades, Calif., Mrs. John
Cox of Roanoke, Va.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in Hixson Brothers Chapel in
Winnfield. Burial was in the Zion Hill Cemetery near Winnfield.
Among the out of town relatives attending the funeral of were Mr. and Mrs.
James Cockerham of Stevenson, Ala., Mr. and Mrs. John Cox of Roanoke, Va., and
Mrs. L. R. Daily of Los Angeles, Calif.
