Melvin Henry Lusk, Jr.
Melvin Henry Lusk, Jr., 84 years old of Ponchatoula, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013, at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, September 11, 1928, in Ponchatoula.
Mr. Lusk was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After attending Southeastern Louisiana University, he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and also in management analysis for the Federal Drug Administration. Mr. Lusk was a part of one of the greatest generations. He loved his life, country, and family.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Myrtle Hoover Lusk; 2 sons, Melvin Lewis Lusk,III and David Allan Lusk; 7 grandchildren, Melvin Lewis Lusk, Amanda Fay Boihem, Jessie Paul Lusk, Claire LaRue Lusk, Angelina Meyers, Shadd Chatellier, and Justin Chatellier; and 11 great-grandchildren, Trent Vinson, Ella Boihem, Faye Boihem, JessieLusk, Jr., Maysie Lusk, Lakin Chatellier, Alexa Chatellier, Bailey Chatellier, Meyah Chatellier, Jake Chatellier, and Ava Chatellier.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Henry Lusk, Sr. and Fay Triche Lusk; and sister, Bernice Luckette.
Friends will be received at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula, Wednesday, August 28, 2013, from 10:00 am until the memorial service begins at 11:00 am in the church. A Private graveside service will follow.
