Melvin Leon Orman

RAYMOND - Melvin Leon “Bud” Orman, a former resident of Vicksburg, died Saturday Feb. 15, 2003, at Covington County Hospital in Collins. He was 83.

Mr. Orman was born in Jackson and was a member of the Army serving in the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion. He retired from South Central Bell after 37 years of service as a switchman. He lived in Vicksburg while employed at South Central Bell. He was a member of McDowell Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary B. Orman of Raymond; three daughters, Kay Lynn Beemon of Ocean Springs, Brenda Massimo of Fredricks, Md., and Crystal Gaddis of Florence; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
