NATCHEZ -- Services for Melvin Lewis Freeman, 55, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Steve Purvis officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday also at the funeral home. Mr. Freeman was born Oct. 30, 1953, in Natchez, the son of Samuel Elmer and Thelma Whitehead Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Kenneth Wayne Freeman.

Survivors include his wife, Tracy Freeman; one daughter, Keysha Freeman; one son, Melvin Lewis Freeman Jr.; two grandsons, Kory and Casey Freeman; two brothers, Jewell Freeman and wife, Debbie, and Mike Freeman and wife, Becky; two sisters, Louise Carroll and husband, Larry, and Linda Harris and husband, Ronnie; special friends, Tracy Reed and Bruce Wallace; mother-in-law, Olivia Lavender; three sisters-in-law and their husbands; one brother-in-law; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Wallace, A.K. Moore, Andy Britt, Flea Flowers, Carl Clements and D.K. Kimbell.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
